Tracy Hughey has taught in Mountain Laurel's Toddler Community and Montessori Beginnings program for over 6 years.
Tracy Hughey has been a teacher in our Toddler Community and our parent/infant program, Montessori Beginnings since 2005. Mrs. Hughey completed the Assistants to Infancy program at the Montessori Institute in Denver and is a fully certified AMI Montessori teacher for children from birth to three years. Prior to becoming the Directress of our Toddler Community, she had been the classroom assistant for over three years.
Mrs. Hughey is also a Montessori parent of two, who has enjoyed watching her daughters progress through Montessori Beginnings, Toddler Community, Primary, Elementary, and now the Farm School. She feels she has a unique perspective to the full spectrum of the Montessori curriculum because of her daughters' experiences at Mountain Laurel.
What Mrs. Hughey enjoys most about her work as a Montessori teacher is helping young children discover their capabilities and to guide them "just enough" to learn new skills.
