Primary

Children ranging in age from 3 to 6 work alone or in small groups, often learning spontaneously from each other. They are free to move about the class and to observe, while respecting the activities of others.

The children are involved in practical life activities that enable them to learn to care for themselves, each other, and their environment. Through the work of practical life, children understand the sequence of a task and develop their powers of self-control and concentration. Children also work with Montessori materials that enable them to explore and classify their sensorial impressions of the physical world.
Through self-directed learning, the children are involved throughout the day in activities which include language, mathematics, geography, science, history, art, and music.

“...the truly creative mind is forged, not only from stimulation, but also from time---time to experiment, to discover, to understand, and to get acquainted with the very special muse of childhood.”
