KIDSART DEADLINE THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER
29
Just a reminder to work on your KidsArt
artwork with your child. The due date for your child's finished artwork,
order form and check is Monday, October 29th. This is
a great fundraising/gift-giving opportunity! The due date for
your child's finished artwork, order form and check is Monday, October
29th. This gives the company plenty of time to produce lovely,
quality note cards for your child's holiday gifts.
Thank you in advance for your
participation. I hope all of the children enjoy creating
beautiful and unique holiday gifts for their family and
friends.
HALLOWEEN IS
COMING SOON
This is an especially exciting time for
our toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary children. It is our experience that the young
children like to have their school remain calm and routine, though a classroom
treat is always nice. To
accommodate these young children’s needs, on Wednesday, October 31st,
each toddler and primary class will enjoy a small Halloween treat at circle
time, but the children may not wear costumes or bring any candy at all to
school. (Please do not include candy in your children’s
lunchboxes.) The elementary children will be allowed
to wear their costumes to school on October 31st, but please do not
wear anything that is scary to younger children, promotes violence, or
includes weapons - plastic or otherwise.
Do not bring candy to
school.
PLEASE
NOTE: AFTER SCHOOL
CARE CLOSES AT 4 PM ON HALLOWEEN to
allow families to prepare for their own celebrations.
CHECK YOUR CALENDAR FOR UPCOMING SCHOOL
CLOSINGS
Please note that next Friday, November
2nd, school is closed at both campuses. This day off allows our
Toddler, Primary, and Elementary teachers to conduct parent/teacher conferences
and enables Farm School staff to pursue continuing education
opportunities.
THERE IS A CHILL IN THE AIR
...
The weather is getting cooler, so this is a good time to mark
your children's names on their sweaters, jackets, coats, hats, and
gloves.
CAMPBELLS SOUP
LABELS
Please start saving Campbells Soup labels and other
participating Campbells products for the Front Royal Moose Lodge. This
organization has been a great supporter of Mountain Laurel and uses the labels
for children's charities. We tried to save them just for our school, but
we are not big enough to make any significant money. The Moose Lodge has a
much larger pool of collectors and they are added to the other Moose lodges in
the country - so it really makes a difference! Please send your labels to
the school to the attention to Elaine Glier.
MARTIN'S A+ REWARDS
PROGRAM
It is time again to register everyone's
Martin's Bonus Card numbers for the Rewards Program. Last year our school
received $1,357.31! All we
have to do to make or exceed this gift is to register your Martin's
Bonus Card numbers, designating Mountain Laurel as the recipient
for your school bonus points (this has no effect on any other promotions
that you accrue with your Bonus Card). Bonus Card
numbers must be registered each year, so please send your 11-digit numbers
to Elaine Glier via email, telephone, or the office. The
easiest way is to simply respond to this email. All Bonus Card
numbers begin with 480. No other information is needed, so please
don't worry about getting unsolicited correspondence - not even your name is
required for registration! Do you have any relatives
or friends who shop at Martin's? Ask them to let us designate their Bonus
Card numbers, too! Thanks to all of you who
have already sent in your numbers. If you haven't yet, please do so today
so we can take full advantage of this generous and simple fundraising
opportunity!!!
