Carrie Irre's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology as well as state certification in elementary school teaching. She received a Masters of Education in special education from James Madison University prior to attaining her AMI Primary diploma from the Washington Montessori Institute in 1998.

Ms. Irre's work experience includes teaching 2nd grade in the public school system. She has worked directly with autistic students as well as serving as case manager and supervisor of a special education group home. She has served as a behavior consultant for the public school system and has done individual tutoring with children of all ages. Ms. Irre loves the "hands-on" nature of the Montessori materials and appreciates the joy that is sparked by such active learning experiences.
