Tracy Hughey teaches in the Toddler Community. She also directs Montessori Beginnings, a parent/infant program that helps parents recognize and nurture their baby's natural drive for independence and self-discovery. After serving for over three years as an assistant in the Toddler Community, Tracy completed the Assistants to Infancy program at The Montessori Institute in Denver. She is now an AMI-certified directress for children from birth to three years.

Tracy is also a Montessori parent of two, who has enjoyed watching her daughters progress through Montessori Beginnings, Toddler Community, Primary, and Elementary programs. Mountain Laurel's Farm School is just a few more years away for her oldest daughter. What Tracy enjoys most in her work is helping young children discover their capabilities, and to guide them "just enough" to learn new skills.

"Education is a natural process carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words, but by experiences in the environment."
