Montessori
Parents Mountain Laurel holds
several meetings during the school year to familiarize parents with the
philosophy and practices of Dr. Montessori. These meetings are essential to
developing an understanding of the Montessori approach, helping the
parents and teachers to work cooperatively for the benefit of the
children.
Upon
enrollment, every parent becomes a member of the Parent-Teacher
Organization which supports the school by organizing community
involvement, social gatherings, and fund-raising events. The PTO is
headed by a council of parents and staff. All parents are welcome to
attend all of the PTO meetings.
“The
essence of independence is to be able to do something for one’s
self. Adults work to finish
a task; the child works in order to grow and create the adult, the
person that is to be.” -Dr. Maria
Montessori
